I led the end-to-end product design for Ziglu, crafting an intuitive multi-currency finance app from concept to launch. From research and wireframing to branding and UX refinement, I ensured a seamless experience for users. Collaborating closely with developers and stakeholders, I helped turn complex financial transactions into a simple, engaging interface.

The Idea
Ziglu set out to break down barriers in personal finance, allowing users to seamlessly manage multiple currencies—including crypto—in a single account. The vision was to create an intuitive app where users could buy, sell, and spend foreign and digital currencies at the best available rates, eliminating complexity and hidden fees.
As part of a two-designer team, I led the product design for the Ziglu app while also working closely with the marketing team to shape the brand identity. The challenge was to design a platform that catered to both experienced crypto users and those new to digital assets, ensuring a frictionless and engaging experience.
Making it real
Our approach followed a structured design process: Discover, Define, Design, and Deliver.
Research & Competitive Analysis
To understand the landscape, we conducted a competitive analysis of five fintech players, identifying two direct competitors. Our goal was to refine Ziglu’s unique value proposition: a seamless multi-currency experience with transparency and ease of use at its core.User Research & Pain Points
We ran multiple focus groups, interviewing users to pinpoint their expectations and challenges. Key insights included:New crypto users needed a simpler onboarding experience.
Users wanted an easy way to fund their accounts and track transactions.
Many preferred real-time insights into portfolio performance over static balances.
Savings features and profit-tracking were in high demand.
Wire framing & Prototyping
With these insights, I rapidly iterated on wireframes, testing different flows to ensure a clear, engaging, and functional experience. Our goal was to simplify navigation, ensure quick access to key features, and make complex transactions feel effortless.Designing with Development in Mind
Throughout the process, I collaborated closely with engineers to assess technical constraints, refine designs, and optimise usability. Continuous feedback loops ensured that the final product was both feasible and impactful.

Curveballs
Every project presents its challenges, and Ziglu was no exception:
Navigating complexity: Finding the right balance between simplicity and depth for different user types was critical.
Optimising navigation: Users found the ‘Move Money’ feature confusing, prompting us to redesign it for clarity and usability.
Iterative improvements: Initial usability testing revealed confusion around portfolio progress tracking, leading us to replace it with daily profit/loss insights—boosting engagement significantly.
Branding alignment: Ziglu’s brand had to reflect its core values of being ‘Magical’ and ‘Mystical.’ Our design language drew inspiration from aurora lights, adding a vibrant yet sophisticated visual identity to the app.
Results that matter
The final design provided users with:
A seamless experience for trading and managing cryptocurrencies.
A clear, interactive portfolio view with deep insights.
A simplified currency exchange solution with real-time market rates.
A fully integrated debit card for spending crypto and fiat currencies instantly.
With an intuitive UI, seamless navigation, and a design aligned with the brand’s vision, Ziglu successfully launched as a market-ready product.
Conclusion
Designing Ziglu was an exciting challenge that allowed me to refine my approach to fintech UX and branding. Working in a fast-paced startup environment meant making quick, informed decisions while balancing business needs, technical feasibility, and user expectations. The end result was a high-performing, user-friendly app that redefined multi-currency finance for a broad audience.
By leading the design process and working across disciplines, I contributed to a product that not only met business goals but also resonated with users, delivering a seamless and engaging financial experience.
